Ash Content of Nature Safe Natural & Organic Fertilizers

Ash: This fraction includes, for the most part, the inorganic or mineral components of a feed*. It is determined as follows**:

1. Weigh out a small quantity of the prepared sample into a small crucible.

2. Ash in a furnace at read heat (600°C) for several hours.

3. Weigh the ash which includes most of the minerals of the sample in the oxide, chloride or sulfate forms.

4. Calculate the percentage of ash or mineral matter as follows:
